The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has assured voters of his commitment to honesty and accountability, declaring that he will not betray the trust of the electorate if elected into office.
Speaking on Sunday at a meeting with members of the Nigerian Society of Professional Tailors in Osogbo, Mr Oyebamiji reiterated his resolve to faithfully implement his recently unveiled seven-point agenda. The programme, introduced on Friday, is aimed at improving the welfare of residents and driving development across the state.
The candidate, who was represented at the event by the Chairman of Civic Engagement of the APC Campaign Council, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, emphasised that his personal values as a God-fearing individual would guide his leadership and ensure that all campaign promises are fulfilled.
He explained that the policy framework, tagged “PROSPER,” was carefully developed with sincerity and a focus on repositioning Osun State for sustainable growth. According to him, the agenda addresses key areas such as poverty reduction, workers’ welfare, employment generation, transparency, economic expansion, security, education, and infrastructure development.
“I want to assure you again that I will not betray your trust if you give me your votes. I am contesting to serve you with all my strength, and I will not disappoint you.
“My newly unveiled seven-point agenda was carefully crafted for implementation when I am elected, and it will drive the growth of the state.
“Trust me with your votes, and I will keep my promise,” he said.
Mr Oyebamiji also praised members of the tailoring association, describing them as individuals of strong character, while pledging support for their trade and contributions to the economy.
“You are men and women of high calibre. Your contribution to the growth of the state’s economy through your fashion design craft cannot be overemphasised.
“One of my agenda pillars focuses on opportunities for economic growth and support programmes for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs).
“This will be fully implemented to enhance your businesses. Trust me with your votes, and I will not betray your trust,” he said.
Addressing political developments, the APC candidate called on voters to disregard what he termed negative campaigns from opponents, claiming that rival parties were unsettled following the release of his development plan.
“Since unveiling my agenda, members and leaders of the opposition are already intimidated and confused.
“I put my trust in God and in you. I am certain our action plans will reposition the state when I am elected. Ignore them, and let us join hands to bring back the APC administration to the state. I will not deceive you.
“The agenda was carefully crafted to meet the needs and aspirations of the people and will be faithfully implemented,” he said.
In his remarks, the chairman of the association, Rasheed Balogun, praised Mr Oyebamiji’s dedication and readiness to serve. He recalled the candidate’s performance as commissioner for finance and acknowledged his continued engagement with the group through civic channels.
Mr Balogun expressed optimism that the APC candidate would deliver on his promises, assuring him of the association’s backing and electoral support.
