A video has emerged on the internet showing officials of the Nigerian Embassy in the Democratic Republic of Congo being ejected from their official apartment by some Congolese with the support of security operatives.
The footage sparked outrage from Nigerians on micro-blogging site Twitter on Friday.
In the video, some embassy officials were seen been thrown out of the building in Kinshasa, the capital city of the country.

Apparently, the owners of the house took the Naija foreign office to court, won the case and the local govt chairman evicted the ambassador.
They have since gotten a new residence. All is well again.— Ada Campbell (@Adacampbell) August 9, 2019
Nigerian Embassy in the Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC, being ejected from their homes today by the police
Any small country in Africa can fuck with Nigeria now. Soon, Benin Republic would take over Lagos State and Buhari would be picking his teeth! pic.twitter.com/4UrSYBvBDK

the land where an embassy is located in considered as part of that country, this is to say , the government of congo has come into Nigeria and evicted us. I expect the Nigerian Army to protect our territorial Intergirty.

I just watched a video of DR Congo forcefully ejecting the Nigerian Ambassador and staff of the Nigerian Embassy in Congo from their official residence. That video is heart wrenching and very humiliating. We are now like tissue paper that can be discarded by even small countries

Do you know the temerity it takes for a country to invade another country’s embassy and throw everyone out when it is not a time of war? A common ant of a country like Congo disrespecting Nigeria’s sovereignty and territory. Nobody respects us again. Naija don cast finish.

Events of the last 2 days just showcased how utterly, despicably incompetent the @MBuhari admin is.
Soldiers killed Policemen & set a kidnapper free. The Nigerian Police comes to drag the military on twitter. The Nigerian Ambassador to Congo thrown onto the streets.
In 2 days

Nigerian Embassy, including the Ambassador in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been evicted from their office and home by the Country’s police.
I remember telling someone on here that Nigeria is just a shadow of herself in the international community.
Such a shame. pic.twitter.com/bZa7XUqy0u

The “See finish” behavior/treatment by countries on Nigerians is no longer a thing for the A-list countries alone anymore. The way we respond matters to show Congo we will as a country not descend to their level of parochialism. It is time we prove we are indeed the giant of Africa and will not allow a country tethered to colonial imperialist tarnish our image with an uncouth act of war.
