Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has submitted a list of 17 local government nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Uzo Nwachukwu, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
The nominees include Dr. Elelenta Nwabuisi Elele (Isiala Ngwa South LGA), Mr. Newman Azu (Ukwa West LGA), Chief Joe Ezearu (Arochukwu LGA), Mr. Obike Ejike Nnochiri (Umuahia South LGA), Mr. C. Y. Nwankwo (Isiala Ngwa North LGA), Mr. Ndubuisi Ike (Umunneochi LGA), Air Vice Marshal Chinwendu Onyike (rtd) (Isuikwuato LGA), Mr. Osinachi Hycinth Nwaka (Ikwuano LGA), Barr. Chijioke Nwankwo (Bende LGA), Chief David Ogba (Ohafia LGA), Dr. Eric Egwuibe (Obingwa LGA), Comrade Nosike Ihesiaba (Ugwunagbo LGA), Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Nwagbara (Ukwa East LGA), Chief Victor Ikeji (Umuahia North LGA), Mr. Uchechukwu A. C. Wogu (Aba South LGA), Ide John Udeagbala (Aba North LGA), ENGR. Israel Nweke (Osisioma Ngwa LGA), and Barr. Young Ngwaziem (Osisioma Ngwa LGA).
“The List of the above mentioned persons has been transmitted to the State House of Assembly by His Excellency, Dr. Alex C. Otti, Executive Governor, Abia State; for Screening and Confirmation as required by law.
“The concerned persons are therefore requested to approach the State House of Assembly for their Screening,” the Commissioner said.
