The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has directed students and staff to remain indoors from 9 p.m. daily following intelligence reports of possible security threats in the area.

The directive was contained in a memo dated October 7, 2025, and signed by the Registrar, R. I. Adebayo, on behalf of the school management.

According to the memo, the warning followed intelligence suggesting the presence of suspected Fulani herdsmen around Iree and nearby areas, which could endanger residents’ safety.

“The entire Polytechnic community, especially students, are hereby informed to stay indoors anytime from 9:00 p.m. in Iree and its environs.

“This alertness and security awareness arose based on intelligence gathering from the community on the possible presence of some Fulani herdsmen which may likely pose possible security threat that is likely to endanger your movement,” the memo stated.

The management advised students to avoid unnecessary movements at night and report any suspicious activity or threat to the Chief Security Officer through 07033166585 or 07034557451.
