Osun court remands man who conspired with woman to behead his wife, 14-month-old baby

Magistrate Muhibah Olatunji of an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile Ife has remanded one Michael Adunola, accused of conspiring with a woman, Atinuke Olawoyin, to kill his wife and 14-month-old baby.

WuzupNigeria reports that the duo were accused of murdering one Esther and the baby, Glory. On May 28, two headless bodies suspected to be mother and child were found around Isale Agbara Area of Ile Ife.

Addressing the court on Tuesday, the prosecutor, Sunday Osanyintuyi, said the accused committed the offence on 23May 2020 around 12:00 pm at Ile-Ife.

He explained that the accused conspired and murdered the deceased.

He said the accused unlawfully killed Esther and Glory and severed their heads and hands.

The offences committed were said to contravened Sections 242, 319(1) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

Because of the nature of the case, pleas of the accused were not taken.

Mr. Adewale Adegbami and M.I. Babawale announced appearance for the accused.

Magistrate Muhibah Olatunji told the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and send to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) at the State Ministry of Justice for legal advice.

She ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesa Nigerian Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter till July 28, for mention
