The All Progressives Congress has released its official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, detailing key dates for nomination processes, delegate congresses, and the party primary.
The timetable, signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, and issued from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, states that the process will kick off with a notice of election to the state chapter on Friday, October 3, 2025. This will be followed by a membership register update across Osun State from Monday, October 20 to Friday, October 31, 2025.
According to the schedule, only members whose names appear in the updated register and who have paid their dues consistently for at least one year up to February 2025 will be eligible to vote or contest in the primaries.
The sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Completed forms, along with supporting documents and delegate forms, must be submitted by Monday, December 1, 2025.
To promote wider participation, the APC announced waivers for certain categories of aspirants. Female aspirants and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will be required to purchase only the Expression of Interest Form, with the Nomination Form provided at no cost. Youth aspirants between the ages of 25 and 40 will receive a 50% discount on the Nomination Form.
The party also disclosed the cost structure for the Osun governorship race:
Expression of Interest Form: ₦10 million
Nomination Form: ₦40 million
Total Cost of Forms: ₦50 million
Delegate Form: ₦5,000
Forms will be available for purchase at the APC Directorate of Organization, 2nd Floor, National Headquarters, No. 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja.
In outlining delegate eligibility, the party noted that only financial members with at least three months of active membership before the congress and a subscription rate of ₦200 per month will be permitted to take part in the delegate election.
Additional events listed in the timetable include the screening of aspirants, publication of screening results, appeals, the conduct of the governorship primary, and a ratification congress in accordance with the 2022 Electoral Act (as amended).
