Osinbajo celebrates Ikorodu Bois
The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has celebrated Nigerian online comedy group, popularly known as the “Ikorodu Bois”, for their creativity in today’s episode “Thumbs up Thursday.
The Ikorodu Bois is famously known for recreating and mimicking multi-million dollar music videos, Hollywood movie trailers, and epic pictures.
Ikorodu Bois comprises three siblings namely, Babatunde Sanni, Muiz Sanni, Malik Sanni, and their cousin, Fawas Aina.
According to the PUNCH, Osinbajo posted a video commentary that showed the group videos over time.
The VP posted the video on his Instagram page to appreciates the comic group for their work of creativity.
He wrote, “The exploits of the @Ikorodu_Bois are impressive, especially for two reasons. The first is the joy of watching them achieve such global acclaim with a consistent effort from their humble corner in Ikorodu.
“The second, however, is the urgency, an urgency that stems from the immediate need to keep up with our efforts to efficiently secure our kids and ensure the opportunities for them not only to thrive tapping their talents but to have the basic chance to get educated for starters, without risk nor distraction. I celebrate them.”
Meanwhile, Steve Harvey, the popular American Talk Show host has taken to his Twitter page to shower encomium on the Nigerian internet sensation.
The American television presenter hailed the youngsters by sharing a video on his Twitter page where the youngsters were seen standing in front of a television set as they mimicked one of his messages, which was delivered on his program, Motivation.
In addition, a streaming service that offers a wide variety of award-winning TV shows, movies, documentaries, and more on thousands of internet-connected devices, Netflix— enlisted Ikorodu Bois for its campaign to celebrate this year’s edition of the Oscars.
Moreso, the skit makers were nominated for the Favourite African Social Media Star’ category at the 2021 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards. Nonetheless, they lost out to Nigerian comedienne, Emmanuella
Recall that this year, the youngsters are on a roll. A few days ago, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, took to his verified Twitter account to share pictures of when he hosted the Bois in his office during a courtesy visit.
In his post, the Governor announced that the young boys’ creativity has made them popular adding that they made Ikorodu on the world map.
