Gospel artiste, Tope Alabi, has evoked reactions from netizens after she reposted Dunamis pastor, Paul Enenche’s video on staying alive without marriage than to die because of marriage.

In an Instagram post on Monday, the ‘Logan Ti O De’ singer had reposted a video which showed Pastor Enenche speaking on abusive marriages, whilst stating that divorce is not an option.

Captioning the post, Tope Alabi had said; “It is better to be alive and there is no marriage than for you to die because of marriage”.

Reacting to her post, @thetimo said; “He’s counselling an abusive husband to hand the wife he married back to his father! How interesting 🤔 So, he expects an abusive husband to yield this “standing on the fence” counsel while divorce is not allowed…..

“This is a passive approach to a matter of life and death that requires action! Divorce is the legal tool that can break the legal marriage vows, saying it is not allowed under any circumstance, is a religious statement totally devoid of love….AND this is subtle licence given to the abuser to continue in his evil while the abused is subtly encouraged to continue in enduring pain because she’s made to believe divorce is not an option. We must classify it!

“Marriage can be annulled when underlying lies (e.g impotence, homosexuality etc) are discovered.

“Similarly, divorce should be allowed in the case of domestic violence. And if we all are trying to religiously avoid approving of divorce, let’s change the name to DISSOLUTION or “scatter the marriage” 😂…..I’m laughing but I’m very 😡😡 and 💔”

@ewatomilola_beaut said; “I wish all churches can preach this, some will remove their titles and disengage ministers, pastors because of divorce, lot of churches do that, if it’s sweet and loving, everyone will wish to stay back.

@ola_dorc said; “Honestly no one will enter heaven on the platter of gold cos he or she is married or have children ,so what are we staying in abusive relationship or marriage for ? There was never for better for worse in the bible ,better still God hate divorce not the divorcee, bible is self explanatory.”
