Osinachi: Anxiety as police, singer’s family await autopsy result

Published

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Thursday confirmed that an autopsy test has been carried out on the remains of late ‘Ekwueme’ singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu.

The development is coming on the heels of allegations and denial from family members, friends and husband of the late Dunamis International Church lead singer, Peter Nwachukwu.

Many colleagues have testified that Osinachi died as a result of unbated domestic violence, an allegation that the husband denied, insisting that singer died from protracted illness.

WuzupNigeria had reported on Tuesday that Nwachukwu was brought in handcuffs to the house to produce evidence of her illness after the deceased’s brother reported the case at the Lugbe Police Division.

Meanwhile, a police source has confirmed that the autopsy test has been carried out.

According to him, the test which should have been done on Wednesday, was delayed because of the absence of some family members, adding that the process started on Thursday at the National Hospital Abuja, where she died.

He said, “You know there have been speculations about her death. The husband is insisting that he died due to an illness. The autopsy was not done yesterday (Wednesday) because everyone had to be represented before they commence, but some people were absent, that was why they couldn’t do it. It is in stages, but I call tell you that the process commenced today.”
