Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, made history in the Serie A by scoring a second-half brace to help Napoli beat Udinese 2-1 at the Stadio San Paolo stadium on Saturday.
Former Barcelona star, Gerard Deulofeu, fired the visitors ahead after 22-minutes as Gabriele Cioffi’s side aimed to put a bump on Napoli’s title chase.
However, Osimhen restored hope for Luciano Spaletti’s side when he bagged the equaliser 52nd minute.
But the Nigerian sent the stadium into a frenzy when he netted the winner in the 63rd minute to ensure Napoli tie league leaders AC Milan on points.
Meanwhile, Udinese ended the game with 10 men as Pablo Marí received his marching orders in the 82nd minute.
Osimhen became the first Nigerian in history to reach the double figures of goals in two different Serie A seasons.
He became the fourth African player to do so, after George Weah, Samuel Eto’o and Mohamed Salah, according to OptaPaolo.
After 20 appearances this season, Osimhen has netted 11 goals, one more than his tally in 2020/21 in 24 appearances.
