Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, scored for the first time in seven months as Napoli defeated Bologna 3-1 on Sunday night.

The former Lille striker who was injured in Napoli 4-2 defeat to Atalanta returned with a bang.

The player needed 12 minutes after he was introduced in the 53rd minute to register his presence.

The lanky forward sprinted through Bologna’s defender Danilo, after receiving a pass from Piotr Zielinski and found the back of the net with a screamer.

The goal was Napoli’s second on the night and his 3rd goal of the season in 11 appearances for Gennaro Gattuso’s men.

It is the second time the striker would hunt Bologna having recorded his last goal for the Partenopei against Siniša Mihajlović’s men on August 8, 2020.

The Eagle would be looking to have a fresh start after struggling to stay fit since his club-record €70m move from Lille.

His Napoli career started on a rough patch after suffering a shoulder injury, coronavirus infection and a concussion.

Napoli are currently sixth on the Serie A table with 47 points from 25 games.

They battle second-place AC Milan in their next game on Sunday.
