Galatasaray’s title celebration at the Presidential Dolmabahçe Working Office drew attention to Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who used the moment to appreciate the club’s latest league success and thank Türkiye president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for hosting the team.
The Turkish champions, led by club president Dursun Aydın Özbek and head coach Okan Buruk, were welcomed by President Erdoğan after sealing the 2025–2026 Super Lig crown.
Osimhen played a key role in Galatasaray’s successful campaign as The Lion clinched a fourth straight league title with one match remaining in the season. The Nigeria international contributed fifteen goals and five assists in twenty-two appearances.
During the reception, Osimhen addressed President Erdoğan with a short remark, expressing appreciation for the invitation and the opportunity to meet him at the presidential office.
Osimhen said: “Thank you very much for receiving us. It is always a great pleasure to be in your presence.
“Just as our president said, we must win the cup to meet you in person.”
The forward rejoined Galatasaray on a permanent transfer last summer following an impressive loan spell at the club. He signed a four-year deal that will keep him with the Turkish giants until June 30, 2029.
Galatasaray also completed a domestic double during Osimhen’s loan campaign in the 2024–2025 season, winning both the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
