Veteran Nollywood actress, Opeyemi Aiyeola, has called out her colleague, Eniola Badmus, for what she described as a hurtful and insensitive comment about her hair loss.

The drama started when Aiyeola shared a video on social media showing her engaging with fans. In the video, the actress’s front hair appeared to be thinning. Eniola Badmus, who is also a political aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass, then commented under the post asking, “Ope where is your front hair???”

Aiyeola, who lives abroad, didn’t take the comment lightly. She went live on Instagram on Friday, April 11, 2025, to express her anger, accusing Badmus of body shaming despite knowing the pain of being mocked in the past.

She said, “This livestream is for Eniola Badmus. I’ve decided not to pay attention to wailing wailers or evil people. But for Eniola, I’ll speak. You were once mocked and body shamed on social media. To now think that you, who knows that pain, would come under my video and mock me, I swear you’re an animal.”

Aiyeola said she had never received support from Badmus on any of her posts before and was shocked that her first comment would be a mockery. She also described the comment as a sign of ignorance.

“You’ve never liked my videos or commented before, but you came to ask about my hair? You think that’s beauty? You’re ignorant. I pity those who call you a friend,” she added.

The actress also hinted that her hair loss was a personal and painful issue, possibly linked to a health condition.

The post triggered reactions from fans and followers. Some believed Badmus was just joking, while others supported Aiyeola’s emotional response.

A user, Abiketiologa, commented: “It’s obvious the commenter is joking, but since she doesn’t interact with her often, it may seem like body shaming. I feel her pain. Alopecia is not a joke.”

Another user, Essybarbie, said: “Very insensitive, especially coming from someone that used to be body shamed.”

Grubsandchops also wrote: “Honestly, we need to be kinder. Alopecia is not funny. Trying to joke about it shows lack of empathy.”

Meanwhile, Opeyemi_martha had a lighter take, saying, “Wahala… I saw the comment and laughed it off. Life no suppose hard!”
