Hilarious moment: Ooni of Ife exchanges bants with Adedimeji Lateef, mimics Nollywood act [Video]

The king also exchanges bants, a video shared by the official Twitter handle of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has confirmed that.

Since ascending the highly-rated Ooni throne in 2015, 45-year-old Ogunwusi has continued to prove that he does not belong to the class of the oldies.

In the past, monarchs in this part of the world are highly dreaded by their subjects. There are not people you see regularly or could be caught exchanging bants with the old and young.

He could best be described as a digital and 21st-century monarch, his activities in almost five years since he became Ooni of Ife seem to justify that appellation

In a footage shared on his Twitter page late on Thursday evening, the monarch could be seen sharing a hilarious moment with Nollywood actor Adedimeji Lateef.

Ooni tweeted:

“A great honour for me to be in the midst of young talented minds like Adedimeji Lateef and many others in which I have dedicated this throne to. Thier successes are my successes and I will do anything humanly possible to keep lifting them all up.

“Respect to all talented Nigerian youths out there, keep doing what you know how to do best. I’m there for you always; Any doors that are shut, I am willing to open them for you.”

Lateef, who is famous for his style of speaking Yoruba like an Igbo person who is not fluent in speaking the language, had gone to visit the monarch to appreciate him for being a recipient of the Ooni’s honour conferred on 100 young Nigerians. As soon as he started talking to the monarch in his usual style, the bants started as Ooni responded mimicking him.
