Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu, has dedicated his Belgian League top scorer and player of the year awards to the fans after an exceptional football season.

The Genk forward claimed the top scorer award ‘Golden Bull’ with a blistering form that saw him find the back of the net 33 times to break the 20-year record set by Wesley Sonck.

Onuachu also won the Belgian League’s Professional Footballer of the Year’s Award as he helped his club to the Belgian Cup.

Reacting to the double awards in a viral video uploaded on social media, Onuachu dedicated the awards to the fans who have been unable to access the stadium all season due to restrictions put in place as a result of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

He said, “Thank You all for this award, especially for the fans. This one is for you guys, I really miss you guys in the stadium, cheers.”

Belgian outfit, Genk, in reaction to Onuachu’s achievements, took to Twitter to describe the Super Eagles striker as a legend.

Genk tweeted, “Congratulations Paul! As a club, we are of course very proud of Paul. He is already a legend of KRC Genk.”

Meanwhile, reporters suggest that the lanky forward is on the radar of top European clubs in the Netherlands, England, and Spain with interest reportedly coming in for the 26-year-old.
