#OneVoiceNigeria: 2Baba, Banky W, to mobilize youths for 2019 elections

Published

Nigerian celebrities, Innocent Idibia better known as 2Baba and Olubankole Wellington aka Banky W, are organising a one day march tomorrow, February 16, 2018, to mobilize youths to partake in the voting process in the upcoming election.

Banky W in a post on his Instagram account urged youth to be active game changers. The dress code for the OneVoiceNaigeria mass mobilization is green.

Banky W wrote,

Elections will be on Sat Feb 16, 2019 – the one year countdown begins tomorrow, Fri Feb 16. We have decided to mobilize as many people as possible to register to vote.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t yet know who you are voting for… even if you hate the job that every single leader in Nigerian history has done.. Until the majority of young eligible voters ACTUALLY show up and register to vote, we will complain about the same issues FOREVER. And Nigeria will never progress.

So here’s the plan.. let’s get the numbers. Let’s get 5, 10, 20 million new young people registered. If we have the numbers then we can have a seat at the table. Obama became President because young people got tired of sitting around and actually showed up.

Same story in Egypt. When you don’t show up, you make it so much easier for rigging to take place.
When you don’t show up, you really don’t have the right to complain about the state of the country.

So tomorrow, we are gonna hit the streets all across the country to mobilize ourselves. This is urgent and important. If we wait until election day it will be too late. Nigeria has faced a lot of the same problems it has for decades due to failed leadership AND citizen apathy – we just don’t care anymore.. we’re used to it. And it’s sad.

So if you’re like me, and you want a better country in your life time.. pls pls REGISTER TO VOTE. And if you can, join us at National Stadium tomorrow morning at 8am. 2baba, myself and others are gonna hit the streets, walking from stadium to INEC office, and attempt to convince as many people as possible to Register to vote.

Join us if you can. And regardless, please register to vote. Your country needs you to do more than talk, tweet and post. Your country needs you to vote. #OneVoiceNigeria

PS: pls go tothe onevoice.ng site for more onfo and to locate your registration centres around the country.
