One person has died in a crash that happened on Thursday night on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority shared the news in a post on its X page, saying the accident happened near the UNILAG Waterfront, in the direction of Adekunle.
According to the agency, a loaded mini truck was involved. It reportedly lost control and crashed, leading to the death of one person. The identity of the victim was not released as of the time of this report.
In the statement, LASTMA said, “A lone accident has occurred on the Third Mainland Bridge, near UNILAG Waterfront, inward Adekunle, involving a loaded mini truck. Unfortunately, one casualty has been reported.”
The traffic agency added that its officers were quickly sent to the scene to control movement and reduce delays for other road users.
“Efforts are currently underway to recover the situation, while officers are on the ground managing traffic to minimise disruptions,” the agency added.
Emergency services were also said to be working at the location to clear the truck and ensure the road is safe again.
