There were tense scenes in Mushin area of Lagos State after motorcycle riders clashed with Lagos State Environmental Task Force.
It was learnt that a combined team of the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit and Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corp, had raided the market around 10am on Thursday.
Unconfirmed reports say at least one person may have been killed in the fracas which occurred after the Taskforce operational van lost control and ram into traders at the Ojuwoye Market leading to chaos.
Armed policemen afterwards fired teargas canisters and bird shots to disperse the crowd and the market.
According to THE PUNCH, the van used by the team reportedly crushed some traders during the raid, leaving many injured.
The paper said three people may have died.
