Operatives of the Lagos Police Command have arrested two ‘one-chance’ suspects, Samson Tella and Raphael John, for robbing a Lekki resident of his car and cash.
The suspects allegedly attacked the undisclosed motorist of his Toyota Corrolla car Reg No. JJJ 242 FW along Lekki-Ajah Expressway, took over the steering, drove him to an ATM at Ikate and made him withdraw N20,000 before they released him.
The development was confirmed by Lagos Police Spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi on Thursday.
Adejobi disclosed that the hapless victim immediately informed the police who tracked the car to a mechanic workshop at Lafiaji, Lagos Island, on 3rd August where the suspects were arrested with the stolen car.
“The victim has since identified Samson Tella as one of the robbers that attacked him,” he said.
Reacting to the report, Lagos Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Special Squad in Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible prosecution.
He also, therefore, reassured the good people of Lagos State of adequate security for lives and property and to sustain the peace that is being enjoyed by the residents of Lagos State.
