Ondo polls: Tension as INEC confirms Jimoh Ibrahim for PDP, indigenes announce winner

There is serious tension in Ondo state ahead of the November 26 governorship election in the state following reports that the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed Jimoh Ibrahim as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the polls.

This decision by INEC came as a rude shock to sitting governor, Olusegun Mimiko, whose candidate was Eyitayo Jegede, as his faction of the PDP seems to have been usurped by the other section.

This decision by the electoral body has not gone down well with indigenes of the state as many have rejected Ibrahim ahead of the coming election.

The people’s loyalty now lies between Eyitayo and Olusola Oke, the governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) party.
