A worker at the Bolorunduro office of Ondo East Local Government Area identified as Matthew suddenly slumped and died in his office on Friday.

According to reports gathered by Daily Trust, Matthew, a resident of Elemosi in Ondo town, came to the office and later took a break to have breakfast in his parked vehicle within the Local Government Area premises.

Upon returning to his office he collapsed, and despite immediate efforts to revive him, he succumbed to the mysterious ailment.

A co-worker, who preferred to remain anonymous, expressed disbelief at the shocking incident.

He said, “He had no sign of ailment at all. This is shocking to us. We had to rush him to the hospital at Bolorunduro, but doctors confirmed that he was dead on arrival. His death is just beyond our imagination.”

Family sources reported that Matthew’s wife was too grief-stricken to speak with the media. However, it was disclosed that the immediate family was making arrangements for the burial rites.

Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the incident, stating that the police were conducting an investigation into the true cause of Matthew’s death.

She stated that the deceased’s remains had been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
