Ondo election: Appeal Court delivers judgement today
The Appeal Court Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital will today Wednesday deliver judgement on the case of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, in the last governorship election.
The judgement will be delivered virtually.
The PDP’s candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, had challenged the victory of Akeredolu in the last governorship election which was upheld by the election Tribunal.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the PDP, Mr Kennedy Peretei confirmed the development, according to THe PUNCH.
He said, “The judgement will be delivered today as scheduled virtually, we have been informed but we are yet to get the code to connect, hopefully before the judgement commences, they will send it to us .”
Mr Ade Adetimehin, the state chairman of the APC also confirmed the development.
Meanwhile, the security agencies were seen patrolling the state capital to forestall any possible breakdown of the law and order by the political thugs.
