The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has backed Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s decision to sack aides attached to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The party’s state chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin said the sack of the media aides was a normal thing in government and would not affect the party’s chances of winning the 2024 governorship election in the state.

Adetimehin said the governor had the right to fire his appointees at any time he wished, and that the sack of the media aides was not a party matter.

This has nothing to do with our party, we are waxing stronger every day,” he said. “Those people who were sacked were the governor’s appointees and he can fire them at any time he wishes. Any appointee can be fired at any time it is a normal thing in government. It is not a party matter and it can’t affect our party in any way.

Meanwhile, the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has called on Governor Akeredolu to return to the state and stop operating from his residence in Ibadan.
