A 60-year-old man identified as Highsent Nwogu, is currently in police custody after being caught producing fake dollars worth N3 million.
Nwogu, who is happily married with five children and three grandchildren, has been defrauding residents of Ogba, Lagos State, where he rented an apartment on Abimbola Street, College Road, Ogba, for the illegal production of fake dollars.
The Abia State born, who hails from Umuahia-South local government area asks his victims to buy goods from overseas for him, and thereafter offer to give them dollars to pay for the goods. He will then give his victims fake dollars and in return receive original naira notes.
The state’s police spokesman, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the state CP, Fatai Owoseni, had directed that the suspect be charged to court.
