Nigerian sprint star Tobi Amusan has not qualified for the final of the Women’s 100m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Amusan finished in third place in her semifinal heat with a time of 12.55 seconds. This time was not fast enough to secure a spot as one of the best losers, which meant she did not make it to the final.

The setback came as a disappointment for Team Nigeria, who were hopeful for a strong performance from Amusan. Despite being the world record holder in the 100m hurdles, Amusan’s time in the semifinal was not enough to advance her to the final round.

On Wednesday, Amusan had shown promise by winning her heat with a time of 12.49 seconds, but she was unable to replicate that performance in the semifinals on Friday.
