Nigerian rapper and YBNL founder, Olamide, has opened up about his relationship with Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, describing them as friends who, despite being difficult to keep up with, share mutual respect and camaraderie.

Speaking during an interview on Adesope Live, the rapper shed light on the dynamic between him and the trio often referred to as the “Big 3” in Nigerian music.

“Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy are all my friends, they are just too troublesome. They are cool dudes; it’s just that sometimes many can’t align on so many things and that’s fine,” Olamide said.

He explained that while their relationship is rooted in mutual admiration, it is natural for them not to always see eye to eye on every issue.

The YBNL boss also addressed his exclusion from the often-debated “Big 3” list in the Afrobeats scene, which typically highlights Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy as the genre’s top global exports. He noted that such rankings do not bother him, stressing that his focus remains on creating music for his audience rather than competing for titles.
