Italian club Torino are reportedly making plans to offer £8.8million to Chelsea for its right-back Ola Aina.
The 22-year-old British-born Nigeria international has enjoyed a successful loan season in Serie A and Torino have an option to make the move permanent for the set £8.8m fee.
Chelsea are reluctant to allow their loan players to leave while under the threat of a transfer ban but may relent in Aina’s case owing to the clause in their loan agreement.
Torino president Urbano Cairo said:
“Ola Aina? He did well, tomorrow he will send the letter to Chelsea to communicate that we will exercise the right of redemption.”
Aina helped Torino finish seventh with 68 points and hopes his displays will secure a place in Nigeria’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt next month.
