The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps arrested a 46-year-old butcher and farmer named Ibrahim Ogunrinde for stabbing a motorcyclist, Kosu Daniel, for allegedly having an affair with his wife.

The Corps spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Friday. He stated that Ogunrinde, who lives in Adu Town, Ajebo Road, Mile 6, Abeokuta, was apprehended at Ijaye garage on Thursday around 2:30 pm.

The incident occurred when Ogunrinde pretended to be a passenger and asked Daniel to take him to Olubo town on Wednesday, July 5, 2024, at noon. According to the statement, “He then allegedly stabbed Kosu Daniel in the neck and arm, leaving him in a pool of blood, and escaped with the victim’s motorbike.”

Upon interrogation, Ogunrinde admitted his motive was to kill Daniel, whom he suspected of having an affair with his wife two months ago.

The statement added, “The suspect confessed that he was motivated by a desire to eliminate the victim, who he believed had an affair with his wife two months prior. He believed he had succeeded in killing the victim, not knowing that Kosu Daniel was rushed to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.”

The suspect and the stolen motorbike have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, SWAT, Magbon, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
