Kira Taiwo, daughter of late veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has announced plans for a 40th-day prayer gathering to commemorate her father.
Kira disclosed the development on Instagram on Wednesday, inviting relatives, friends, colleagues and well-wishers to join the Islamic prayer session scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026.
According to the invitation, the gathering will commence at 12 noon at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground in Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State. The venue is where Ogogo was laid to rest on August 24, following his death at the age of 66.
The invitation poster featured a photograph of the deceased actor alongside the inscription: “You are invited to the 40 days prayer for Alh. Al-Hassan Babatunde Taiwo ‘Ogogo.’”
The prayer gathering is expected to attract members of Ogogo’s family, friends, colleagues and associates, who will come together to remember the actor and celebrate his contributions to the Yoruba film industry.
Ogogo died on August 23, 2026, bringing to an end a career that spanned more than four decades in the Yoruba movie industry.
The 40th-day prayer is being held in line with Islamic tradition, marking 40 days since the veteran actor’s death.
