Lagos State Government have moved a step in proving that the state’s administration is all inclusive.

The government is proving this by inaugurating the governing board of the office for disability affairs was inaugurated today.

Inaugurating the Board on Tuesday, Governor of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode  said the Office for Disability Affairs will, on behalf of the Lagos State, manage the affairs of people living with disabilities. He added that in fulfillment of the promise made on May 29, 2016, the disability Trust Fund has also been endowed with N500million.

The governor said: “Through this Fund, people living with disabilities in Lagos will be supported to make a livelihood for themselves & fulfill their potentials. We’ve fulfilled the promise to ensure that the affairs of people living with disabilities are managed by people passionate enough to show that there is ability in disability.

“I urge the Chairman and members of the Board to be guided by the principles of transparency, accountability, inclusiveness and fairness. People living with disabilities are still eligible to access the Employment Trust Fund.”
