Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has publicly reaffirmed his commitment to the Redeemed Christian Church of God, declaring that he would not hesitate to contribute a billion naira — or more — if he had the means.
In a post shared via X, the artist emphasised that serving God is a matter of personal conviction rather than obligation.
He noted that financial giving alone does not secure salvation and insisted that genuine faith is demonstrated through consistent action and dedication to spiritual service.
“If I had a billion to contribute to the RCCG, I would do it and even more. It is not by force to serve the Lord; they did not say that if you do not drop 1bn, you will not enter heaven. As for me and my household, we will continue to support the work of Christ shamelessly, no matter what you people throw at us. You are just fulfilling the scriptures. God bless you,” he wrote.
He criticised the growing tendency to mock or question financial support for churches, arguing that ministry operations require substantial resources.
Odumodublvck highlighted the often-overlooked responsibilities borne by religious leaders, including financial aid and logistical needs for outreach.
“We have made it a norm to desecrate the idea of supporting the church. Shey na Holy Spirit dey fuel the gen? Na Holy Spirit go pay for logistics for evangelism? The church needs money, much more money than the average business. Do you have an idea of the number of people your priest or local pastor supports? After church, you and your family just go to Mr Biggs and have a nice weekend. You should be thankful you are not amongst those who have to wait behind to get small handouts from the pastor,” he added.
The rapper’s remarks have stirred reactions online, drawing attention to the ongoing debate around faith, finances, and the role of the church in social support.
