Nigerian influencer and #EndSARS campaigner, Feyikemi FK Abudu has assured arrested #OccupyLekkiTollGate protesters that help is on the way.

Abudu disclosed this on her verified Twitter handle on Saturday morning after reports that policemen have arrested dozens of protesters at the Lekki toll gate.

Although the destination of the arrested protesters is unknown, Abudu said that “our lawyers are getting ready to head to Adeniji station, or wherever they will take them.”

Speaking further, she questioned the justification of the arrest – “I really want to know the made-up justification for these unlawful arrests because these people had just gotten there.”

The Punch reports that at least 18 #OcuppyLekkiTollGate protesters have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command’s operatives.

The arrest was confirmed by one of the protest coordinators, Kunle Ajayi, who told The Punch that the arrested protesters have been arrested and detained in a black maria by security operatives at the Lekki toll gate.

“Police have just arrested 10 protesters – Four ladies and six guys. They were beaten mercilessly and injured,” he said, while one of the arrested protesters posted a video saying, “We have been arrested. Over ten of us. We are kept in a black maria stationed at the toll gate now.”

Meanwhile, popular social media comedian, Debo Adebayo aka Mr Macaroni, was also arrested at the toll gate during the protest this morning.

He confirmed his arrest via an Instagram Live post. See video below:
