Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has imposed a curfew on the Anaku and Omor communities until further notice.
According to a public announcement delivered on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, the curfew would take effect immediately.

It was also reported that at least nine persons, including a former Chief Judge in the state, were injured in the mayhem while about three houses were burnt.
Chukwulobelu noted that the curfew would run from 7 pm to 6 am until further notice, adding that security personnel were on strict orders to enforce the curfew.
Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, revealed that normalcy had been restored in the warring communities.
He noted that the death toll as a result of the clash remained at three and the bodies have been deposited at a morgue in the state.
“Normalcy has been restored in the area and our men are still on the ground to ensure the safety of life and property. So far, we have recovered three bodies that have been deposited at the morgue.”
While reports revealed that the communities clashed over an alleged land dispute, a source revealed that “Some of the affected persons in the renewed crisis include a former Chief Judge of Anambra and a former commissioner.
