Obaseki confirms passing of Obasogie of Benin
The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has confirmed the death of the Obasogie of Benin, Chief Eduwu Ekhator.
Although the cause of death has not been made public yet, Chief Ekhator reportedly died on Monday morning.
In a statement on his official Twitter handle, Obaseki described Ekhator as a great asset of the Benin Kingdom who will be greatly missed.
“I received the news of the death of the Obasogie of Benin, Chief Eduwu Ekhator with a heavy heart. Chief Ekhator was a nobleman, with a good heart. He was amiable and peaceful, which mark him out as a great asset of the Benin Kingdom. He will be greatly missed.”
