A blogger, Abiodun Omonijo, popularly known on Twitter as Vlad, wrote an opinion piece on the alleged sex scandal that happened at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife with the title; OAU Sex Scandal: Read Beyond Emotions.
Omonijo in his post tried to bring some perspective to the lingering matter as he believes too many people approached it with their emotional stereotypes rather than logic.
The blogger who obviously has every right to his opinion took to his social media account and tweeted about the matter.
His tweets, however, sparked a reaction as some concerned youths also took to their Twitter handles to air their opinions on the matter.
Reports said Professor Richard Akindele of management and accounting department in the aforementioned institution allegedly demanded sex from a yet to be identified female student for the purpose of getting good grades.
The sex scandal was brought to the fore after a leaked telephone conversation between the lecturer and the alleged victim went viral on the internet and sparked reactions on social media.
The alleged victim in the telephone conversation repeatedly addressed the other person as ‘Prof. Akindele’, who later told her to ‘stop calling his name!’
The conversation indicates that the student had refused the lecturer’s initial sex demand to upgrade her marks and that he wanted to have sex with her five times before doing so, a deal she later rejected.

I woke up this morning to a whatsapp message that https://t.co/NWrdHClrKp has made my post on the OAU lady affair viral while saying that is why sexual assault victims don’t speak out.
I will address that elaborately in an oped— Vlad (@AbiodunOmonijo) April 10, 2018
Ladies should not always play the victim card. That OAU lady begging for marks is not a victim!
She was negotiating her body for marks she did not merit. Do we know how many other lecturers she has proposed to sleep with?
We hear of the Prof’s because it failed!— Vlad (@AbiodunOmonijo) April 9, 2018
So are we going to vilify just the Prof?
The lady should also be revealed, she is a greater thief!
In a case of corruption, both the giver and the taker are thieves! https://t.co/N4Pt8QuJvH— Vlad (@AbiodunOmonijo) April 9, 2018
You people should stop bringing feminist balderdash to the table abeg

Exactly! It’s not that she was being a detective. She failed a course and wanted to pass through the back door.
Would anyone have known if it had been other ‘prize’ but her body?

Kindly allow me elaborate your point, David. She planned it from the beginning. She set him up and he fell into it because it is his way. She then went on to perfect it by saying she wont agree to the bargain

Meanwhile, a Twitter user identified as Osula Daniel Enahoro shared a diverse opinion on the matter, instead, he accused other contributors of being bias and ignorant for blaming the alleged victim.
About the trending sex scandal in OAU, I have read a lot of tweets relating this and I want to share my personal story on this thread. I hope this trends so everyone commenting from a place of bias and ignorance, victim blaming the lady, should receive sense.

While we wrestle to set our country in the right direction, we cannot overemphasise the need for a revolution in our educational sector. As @AAUA_EDU_NG continues with their madness, @OAU_gossipz is trending for another negative reason.
