The National Youth Service Corps has warned Corps members to stop posting harmful or misleading content online, saying such behaviour can lead to sanctions from the Scheme.

NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, gave the warning on Friday while speaking to the 2025 Batch C Corps members at the Delta State Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku.

In a statement shared on the NYSC X handle, the DG urged Corps members to use social media in a way that promotes the Scheme and the country.

He said, “Any negative post you make about the Scheme or your activities can attract sanctions. Use your platforms to promote good values.”

Nafiu also reminded them to follow all camp rules, avoid unsafe trips, and obey every instruction given by officials.

“Follow simple instructions, be obedient, go for your biometrics and your Community Development Service. Learn and respect the cultural values of your host communities and do not misrepresent us at your place of primary assignment,” he said.

Earlier, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, John Kwaghe, gave a briefing on camp activities. He said 2,101 Corps members had been deployed to the state, including 944 males and 1,157 females.

Kwaghe said camp activities were going on well, with officials and Corps members showing discipline and full participation.

WuzupNigeria had earlier reported that Brigadier General Nafiu issued a similar reminder to Corps members in Rivers State, urging them to uphold the Scheme’s values throughout their service year.

He told them to be patriotic and to allow integrity, transparency, efficiency, and commitment to guide their actions.
