The National Youth Service Corps has warned prospective corps members travelling for the 2025 Batch B Stream 1 orientation exercise not to embark on late-night journeys.
The NYSC Public Relations Officer in Bauchi State, Jacob Unogwu, gave the warning while speaking with journalists on Tuesday. He said the scheme is serious about the safety of corps members and discourages travelling at night for security reasons.
Unogwu said, “Prospective corps members are expected to arrive at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area, between July 30 and midnight of July 31. No one will be allowed into the camp after the deadline.”
He added that only those confirmed to be genuine graduates would be allowed into the camp.
“There will be thorough screening to prevent impersonation or the entry of unqualified persons. Anyone who fails to follow the rules will be punished according to the scheme’s regulations,” he said.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for August 1, while the orientation camp will run until August 19.
Unogwu also reminded prospective corps members to dress properly and respect all camp rules.
“Those who break the dress code or act carelessly will face disciplinary action,” he said.
