NYSC member, passenger, driver dies in Imo road accident
A 26-year-old female National Youth Service Corps member, Sanni Mariam, along with other passengers and the driver, lost their lives in a devastating road accident in Imo State on Thursday.
The accident reportedly occurred as their commercial bus was en route to Lagos.
Mariam, a participant in the 2023 Batch C Stream 2, had recently completed the three-week compulsory orientation in Benue State and was on her way back to Lagos.
According to reports, Mariam was a Computer Science graduate from Universite Protestante de Lafrique de l’Ouest, Benin Republic, who also won several awards for her platoon during her orientation, including the Scrabble platoon game.
The details of the accident and the circumstances leading to the tragic event are still under investigation.
The Benue State NYSC State Coordinator, who could provide more information, was unavailable at the time of reporting, as calls and messages went unanswered.
