The National Youth Service Corps has announced that the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course will begin on Wednesday, September 24, across all camps nationwide.

In a statement released on its official Facebook page on Monday, the scheme explained that registration would last until midnight on Friday, September 26, while the swearing-in ceremony would take place the same day. The three-week programme is expected to close on Tuesday, October 14.

However, the scheme noted that Kwara State would open later than others, starting its exercise on Tuesday, September 30, and ending on Monday, October 20.

NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, urged prospective corps members to report to the camps written in their call-up letters and strictly follow registration rules. He reminded foreign-trained graduates to come along with their international passports and original copies of uploaded documents.

Nafiu warned against fraud, saying, “Any prospective corps member who presents fake documents will be handed over to law enforcement agencies for prosecution.”

Graduates of monotechnics and polytechnics are also required to present their National Diploma certificates during registration.

The NYSC further explained the process for lost call-up letters. Those who collected theirs from schools must get a police report and sworn affidavit before going back to their institutions, while those who printed theirs online can simply reprint.

Highlighting safety concerns, the scheme warned corps members against night travel. “Once it is 6:00pm, prospective corps members are enjoined to break their journeys and spend the night at military or police barracks, NYSC secretariats or corps lodges nearest to their disembarkation point,” the statement read.

The corps also advised them to use only government-approved motor parks and licensed transport companies to avoid criminals.

On the rules guiding service, Nafiu said, “Any prospective corps member who refuses to report for service or participates illegally in the scheme will be prosecuted, as stipulated by the NYSC Act.”

He added that married, pregnant, and nursing mothers posted outside their husbands’ states of residence may join orientation in their states of domicile once they provide proof of marriage, their husbands’ identity, and evidence of residence.

For registration, corps members must present original call-up letters, academic certificates or statements of result, school ID cards, and medical fitness certificates issued by government or military hospitals with the stamp of the Nigerian Medical Association. Medical and health graduates must also show proof of registration with their professional councils.

Nafiu concluded, “We wish all prospective corps members safe travels to their various camps and a successful service year.”
