NYIF will promote youth employment, positive engagement- APC chieftain

Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, says the newly established Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) will solve youth unemployment and promote their positive engagement.

Olaosebikan said this in a statement he issued on Saturday in Ibadan.

The Newsmen reports that Olaosebikan was a former Chief Press Secretary to late Gov. Lam Adesina and founder of  Ojo Ola Oyo, a youth development group.

NAN recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari recently approved the NYIF initiated by the Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Mr. Sunday Dare.

” Approval for the establishment of the fund is very heartwarming. It is the finest development coming from Abuja of late.

“This new youth fund approved by President Muhammadu Buhari would bring the best out of Nigerian youths, solve youth unemployment, and promote positive engagement.

“The success of this program will no doubt culminate in the realization of the much-desired generational change in the economic and political leadership of Nigeria in no time,” Olaosebikan said.

He said that the actualization of the fund at this critical moment confirmed that Nigeria had finally got the right person to run the affairs of its youths.

Olaosebikan said that the Youth Bank, the first of its kind in the history of Nigeria, was the impetus the youths required to unleash their potentials in national development and excel among their peers globally.

He said that the fund was what the ever ingenious, innovative, resilient, and hardworking Nigerian youths need to unleash their talents, skills as well as energy.

“The youths need the initiative in developing themselves in their various professions, vocations, sports, and politics locally as well as across the globe.

“What had been lacking in youth development in Nigeria had been adequate inspiring leadership, apposite environment, and funds for investment in ideas, skills as well as research,” he said.

Olaosebikan said that the NYIF would bring out the best in them and lead to huge revolutions in virtually all facets of life.

“It is capable of fetching out the Mark Zuckerberg (Founder of Facebook at 19), Mathew Mulleweng (Founder of Word Press at 25), and Catherine Cook (Creator of My Year Book at 15).

“Also among are the Sean Belnick( founder of Bizchair at 14), David Karp ( Creator of Yahoo at 21), and Emmanuel Macron who became French President at the age of 40 in no time,” he said.

NAN also recalls that Olaosebikan had at a parley with the executives of Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Oyo State Council, on Friday in Ibadan described the minister as a unique asset to the present administration.

He commended Dare for being totally dedicated, committed, and focused on the assignment entrusted to him by the president.

Olaosebikan said that the minister had given an assurance that the fund would be effectively and efficiently utilized, urging young Nigerians to sharpen their skills and put necessary documents together preparatory to its take-off.

“This is the time to get set for the Fund. I know many of our youths are with bankable ideas, talents, skills, and proposals.

“It is however of utmost importance to get all the necessary papers and documents ready now as the world belongs to those that plan for it now,” he said.

He said that the fund which was the first of its kind in Nigeria would be a youth bank aimed at supporting innovative ideas, skills, talents, and enterprise of Nigerian youths.
