The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed officers to all accredited Computer-Based Test centres in Anambra State ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, set to begin on April 24.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Edwin Okadigbo, Head of Media and Tactical, Anambra NSCDC, confirmed that security personnel would be stationed at all 33 CBT centres across the state.

Okadigbo added that the state Commandant, Olatunde Maku, had ordered the deployment of these officers to ensure a smooth and secure examination process.

“The personnel will be on duty to ensure that the exam is carried out without any hitches. They will secure the centres, prevent unauthorized access, and protect the integrity of the examination,” the statement read.

Maku also held a meeting with area commanders, divisional officers, and other heads of NSCDC formations at the State Command Headquarters in Awka on Tuesday. He emphasized the importance of the officers’ roles in maintaining security and upholding the rules of the examination.

“They will arrive at the centres before 6 a.m. daily to ensure that candidates are screened for prohibited items and that a peaceful environment is maintained throughout the exam period,” Maku said.

He urged all officers to follow the guidelines of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and to act professionally while performing their duties.

Maku also warned against unauthorized persons loitering around the exam centres and reminded candidates to avoid bringing prohibited items. He emphasized the NSCDC’s commitment to arresting and prosecuting anyone caught violating the rules.
