Actress Shine Rosman has urged people to be truthful about their intentions before entering relationships, saying many heartbreaks happen because people pretend to want love when they don’t.

She shared her thoughts during an interview on the Open Podcast with Amanda Dara, where she spoke about love, relationships, and personal growth.

Speaking on The Open Up Podcast with Amanda Dara, Rosman said marriage is not for everyone and that some people are better off single.

“Not everyone should be married,” she said. “Some people are not willing to put in the work. And some people just don’t want it. It’s nothing about putting in work—they’re just okay with being by themselves. So it’s not by force.”

The actress added that many people rush into relationships without thinking about what they really want. She urged people to be honest about their intentions instead of pretending to want something serious.

“If you want a fling, have a fling. But don’t enter a relationship mindlessly. Spell it out, say it. Let the person know, ‘I love girls today,’ or ‘I’m not ready for something serious.’ Those days women were ashamed to say things like that, but it’s not wrong to be in a place where you’re not ready for a relationship.”

Rosman also spoke about how she views commitment, saying being chosen by a partner is a big deal.

“Your partner—your boyfriend, girlfriend, wife or husband—those are the only people that actually choose you. They’re not bound to you by blood. They wake up every day and say, ‘I’m choosing you.’ That’s a big deal. So if you’re going to do something, put your heart into it. If you’re not going to do it, don’t do it.”

She also called out older men who go after younger women, saying it’s embarrassing to see men in their 60s in clubs with girls young enough to be their daughters.

“I see men in their 60s dancing in clubs with girls young enough to be their daughters. It’s shameful. Go home to your wives. Leave the young girls for their age mates,” she said.

Talking about her parents’ relationship, Rosman shared that her father’s love for her mother shaped her idea of what marriage should look like.

“My dad was so in love with my mum, no matter how much she frustrated him. No matter what she did, he was going to love her. I know God is going to give me that,” she said.

Rosman is rumoured to be in a relationship with actor Bucci Franklin, though he denied the reports after a public kiss at a movie premiere, saying they were only acting out their movie roles.
