Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has advised secondary school students to avoid negative friendships, social media distractions and temporary pleasures that could jeopardise their future.
According to PUNCH, the actress delivered the warning during a Campus Flaws Awareness programme organised for Senior Secondary School Three students at Trinity University, Yaba, Lagos.
The event, organised by Etiquette Poise and Protocol Resource Academy, aimed to educate students about challenges they might encounter when transitioning to higher education.
Jegede emphasised the importance of making responsible decisions, explaining that students’ choices could significantly influence their future opportunities.
“Don’t let temporary fun destroy your future,” she warned.

The actress encouraged students to be mindful of the company they keep, warning that some friendships could negatively influence their behaviour and academic progress.
She also urged them to exercise caution when consuming and sharing content on social media.
Jegede explained that young people should not feel pressured to imitate lifestyles portrayed online or compromise their values to gain acceptance.
She encouraged students to seek mentorship before making major life decisions and to concentrate on building their education and character.
Also speaking at the event, Nollywood actor Tobi Makinde stressed that good manners and personal integrity were essential to long-term success.
Trinity University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Clement Kolawole, highlighted the institution’s commitment to preparing students for academic and professional life.
The programme also featured a stage performance illustrating the consequences of poor choices and negative social influences.
