Seasoned Nollywood actor, Kayode Odumosu, aka Pa Kasumu, has died after a brief illness.
Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola-Salako, broke the news of the actor’s passage on social media on Sunday.
In a message posted on her Instagram page, Daramola-Salako said the actor, who was aged 67, died on Sunday afternoon at an undisclosed hospital.
“Our model-actor, Pa Kayode Odumosu finally takes a bow. It is with so much pain in our hearts that we announce that he has given up the ghost after a brief illness. This news was broken by a close source that lives around the hospital where he gave up the ghost. We will keep you updated with more information on the sad event,” she wrote.
The President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria, Mr Bolaji Amusan, confirmed the actor’s death.
Odumosu’s health got worse shortly after returning from India, where he had gone to receive treatment for a heart-related ailment that also affected his eyesight and memory, in 2015.
In spite of the trip, the actor kept drifting in and out of the hospital until he passed on.
The deceased actor recently disclosed that his ailment was ‘spiritual and begged Nigerians to keep praying for his total recovery.
