Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated unequivocally that no one has the authority to expel him from the Peoples Democratic Party, emphasizing his firm loyalty and unmatched contributions to the party.
Speaking during a media chat with journalists in Abuja on Monday, the former Rivers State governor maintained that he remains a dedicated PDP member and challenged anyone who believes otherwise to prove their worth to the party.
“I am still in PDP. I worked hard for the party. I have not seen anybody who will have the guts to tell me, Wike, you are not a member of the party. Who is that? What is his contribution to the party that is more than me?” he queried.
Wike also responded to recent criticisms from Chief Bode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, who accused him of working against the interests of the party. Dismissing the remarks, Wike said his impact on the PDP outweighs George’s influence, particularly when comparing their respective political achievements in Rivers and Lagos States.
Referring to George’s claims that the PDP made him who he is, Wike disagreed, asserting that he has been instrumental in keeping the party relevant.
“Let him sit in his house and read newspapers,” Wike said, taking a swipe at the PDP chieftain.
He further emphasized that while he has consistently delivered electoral victories for the PDP in Rivers State, George has failed to secure significant wins for the party in Lagos.
