The National Orientation Agency in Ondo State has announced a partnership with the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency for a mass vaccination campaign. The campaign is set to take place from May 3 to May 10, 2025.

This partnership aims to boost vaccination coverage across the state and improve the health of the people.

In a statement on Sunday, the Ondo State Director of NOA, James Adekunle, welcomed a team from the OSPHCDA, led by its Permanent Secretary, Dr. Adegoke Akanbiemu, during an advocacy visit in Akure.

Both agencies agreed to work together to make the vaccination campaign a success. The drive will target children between 0 and 15 months old and 9-year-old girls, offering vaccines to protect them against different diseases.

Adekunle promised that NOA would continue to support government health projects, especially by spreading information about the vaccination exercise.

He said, “We are committed to helping government health initiatives succeed, and we will use all our platforms to inform the people about this important vaccination campaign.”

Adekunle also praised the Federal Government’s work in improving healthcare for mothers and children. He stressed that giving people information on time is very important for the success of the campaign.

In response, Dr. Akanbiemu thanked NOA for its support. He said the collaboration would help make the campaign successful.

Speaking for the OSPHCDA, the Director of Disease Control, Dr. Victor Adefesoye, said the partnership was very important.

He said, “The NOA’s experience in passing information to the public will be very helpful in getting communities to come out for the mass vaccination.”

The partnership is seen as an important step in closing immunisation gaps and protecting vulnerable children across Ondo State.

Both agencies said they would continue to work closely to make sure the vaccines reach as many people as possible in a timely and organised manner.
