Marvel Studios has confirmed that there will be no resurrection to the Tony Stark/Iron Man character, meaning the dead will stay dead. at least for now.

Iron Man -the human-hero character, played by Robert Downing Jr., died at the end of Avengers: Endgame after harnessing the infinity stones in a makeshift gauntlet built into his suit.

Although Stark was overpowered by the power of the stones, his death was not in vain as his sacrifice helped defeat Thanos and his destructive army.

During a recent interview (via ComicBook) Victoria Alonso, Marvel EVP, revealed that the story arc of Tony Stark reached its conclusion in Avengers Endgame and there’s nowhere else left for the character to go.

“Tony Stark is dead and that’s our story. Resurrection i do not know. I don’t know how we would do it. It seems to me that the story of Tony Stark is told by us. Hence, he has left his inheritance, who he is for example in Spider-Man because Peter Parker has been a false son, so you see a lot of what Tony Stark would have been in Peter Parker. And it seems to me that you see that constantly in how one person influences the other. But no, at the moment we don’t have any plans”.

According to WhatCulture,  Tony Stark is going to have a cameo in Black Widow (the movie is set way before Avengers Endgame) but that’s it for the genius, billionaire, philanthropist and playboy.
