No more begging for PayPal, Nigerians react to Flutterwave partnership
Nigerians have flooded Twitter with excitement over the new partnership between the country’s $1bn fintech company, Flutterwave and United States payments giant, Paypal.
The collaboration between both companies would allow businesses in Africa to receive payments from over 377 million PayPal users across the world, according to Flutterwave’s CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, fondly called GB.
Flutterwave’s Head, Branding and Storytelling, Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu on Tuesday added that the partnership “is going to change everything, it is going to turn African businesses into global businesses.”
In a nutshell, the integration with PayPal which is now live and operational across 50 African countries and worldwide would enable small business owner(s) and freelancers who use Flutterwave in places like Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritius, Malawi, Mozambique and Senegal accept payments from PayPal users worldwide.
The development has received a warm reception on Twitter as it shoots to the top trending topic on Twitter NG with over 90,000 tweets.
