Actress Ifemelu Dike has urged Nigerian youths not to wait for celebrities to lead them in protest.

According to her, the celebrities who are in comfort zones won’t want to give that up to start any protest.

She made this known hours after singer Naira Marley cancelled a protest against the menace of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, which he had scheduled for today.

She said:

“Dear Naija youths, stop waiting for celebrities to start a protest for you. They are living in their comfort zones and may never be willing to put their life and career on the line. No be everybody wey sing Fela song get Fela passion. Take your future in your hands.”

She added:

“Truth is no celebrity owes us a protest, as much as I agree they can use their influence and platforms but you can’t force anyone… They mass force movement will start from the slums by they most frustrated and deprived not people with dual citizenship… MALIANS PRESIDENT, I greet o.”
