A three-storey building collapsed on Monday morning at Amusu Street, Baale Bus Stop in the Orile-Iganmu area of Lagos State. Thankfully, no casualties were reported.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the incident through its Head of Public Affairs Unit, Mr. Nosa Okunbor. In a statement, he said the building collapsed on its own at around 8:45 a.m. “LASEMA Response Teams are conducting a Search and Rescue operation at the site. There are no casualties, and more updates will follow,” Okunbor added.

The incident caused confusion in the area as residents ran in different directions, fearing for their safety. However, it was reported that the occupants of the building had already evacuated before the collapse.

Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, confirmed that the debris was being cleared and reiterated that no one was injured.
